Biology of the Year Review Paper of the Year Webinar

Description: Genetic sex begins its influence on the embryo shortly after fertilization by influencing rapid cell proliferation in male blastocysts. While the male fetus often prioritizes rapid growth and development, the female fetus relies on communication with and adaptation to the uterine environment. This sexual dimorphism is especially apparent when comparing the placental and fetal responses to in utero insults. This webinar will focus on how immunological and pharmacological insults during pregnancy alter the growth and development of the placenta and fetus as well as the offspring.
