Call for Interest: Editor-in-Chief, Biology of Reproduction

SSR has commenced a search for successors to the current Editors-in-Chief of Biology of Reproduction, Drs. Romana Nowak and Mary Zelinski, whose term ends June 30, 2025. We are now seeking applicants for the position of Editor(s)-in-Chief, whose duties will start officially on July 1, 2025 and extend through June 30, 2029.

Applicants should be active scientists with a distinguished record of service to and familiarity with the SSR’s mission. We are seeking individuals with a broad background in reproductive sciences who appreciate the need for both fundamental exploratory science as well as its translation into clinical medicine and policies that benefit reproductive health in humans and animals. Furthermore, we are looking for people with prior experience not only as authors but also as reviewers, Associate Editors and ideally as an Editor and thereby have knowledge and experience in scholarly publishing. Applicants should demonstrate their strong commitment to high standards for peer review and to maintaining Biology of Reproduction as the premiere journal in its field.

Interested applicants can apply to be the sole Editor in Chief, or apply with a co-editor. Interested parties will have the opportunity to talk with the current Editors and Publication Committee members at the SSR Annual Meeting this summer. A detailed job description is also available upon request.

The deadline for responding to this call for interest is July 31, 2023. Guidelines for submitting an application packet will be forwarded to nominees beginning August 1, 2023. The deadline for receipt of applications is October 15th, 2023.
